A delightful dining experience located idyllically on the seafront, (Cornish), with beautiful, panoramic views around the restaurant, and some, (limited), outdoor seating, making it a peaceful, pleasant place to dine. There's a choice from a range of dishes on the menu; plus a fresh fish counter which has a good range of sea foods to choose from; where the customer may then select exactly how each dish is prepared.
Our experience has been that each individual dish, including the sauces and cooking methods, results in delicious cuisine! Sampath and the Managers are always helpful, attentive and friendly, as was Saman and the other staff. Over a number of visits we've tried many of the dishes, and particularly enjoy the grilled whole hamour in lemon and garlic sauce, which left the fish moist and full of flavour; the salmon in Samboks' delicious Chinese style sauce is always exquisite; the crab thermidor has a lovely flavour; as does the biryani; and the rice accompaniments compliment the main dishes well. Thus with this level of service and high quality ingredients / cooking, does come the slightly higher price of such fine dining; but it is worth it for special occasions, or just for a treat! Ideally more outdoor seating would be created for the customers of this sophisticated restaurant, to take full advantage of it's scenic location; although the in-door seating is nice enough. We discovered Sanbok many years ago, and it has continued to be a favourite of our family, where we've always experienced friendly, good service, whilst enjoying mouth-watering, deliciously prepared dishes!
