I like Almokha when it’s not overly crowded by teenagers and loud regulars.
The downsides that i noticed in this place as a regular customer who comes to mind her business and work are various.
1- bathrooms are not always clean. It’s obvious that the toilets don’t have someone attending to them regularly.
2- the music the baristas play have explicit language. Why am i sitting alone during the slow morning hours with two regulars and a worker listening to a nasty song with nasty lyrics? Unprofessional and inappropriate.
3- the regulars that are friends with the baristas are loud and act as if they are entitled to the space. The laughs are too noisy, the jokes and dirty remarks are too loudly said as if we are sitting at the diwaniyah and not at a public place where the space is shared with other people.
4- the place leaks the smell of cigarettes from the second floor. You either get a better filtering system or just turn the whole cafe into a teenagers smocking lounge. Last time i went there, sat downstairs, and still caught the smoke and sat the whole time with a mask on.
I hope the Mokha team can take this review in consideration and really work on improving. With this attitude you will only attract teenagers who spend 6 hours at your tables with a bill of 18 sar only and a mouth as loud as ever. And not elegant people with high purchasing power who value professionalism and spend well on multiple orders per visit.
